What equipment to choose for business

At the first stage, it is planned to create a small network of vending machines, consisting of 10 machines. For this purpose, coffee machines from the Italian brand Veneto will be purchased. The machine has an attractive design, a self-cleaning program and a large selection of products. The device offers a choice of 8 drinks at once:

  • Coffee with milk;
  • Espresso coffee;
  • Cappuccino;
  • Hot chocolate;
  • Frothed milk;
  • Coffee latte;
  • Mochaccino;

Ingredient loading volume includes:

  • Instant coffee - 1.5 kg;
  • Chocolate - 3.1 kg;
  • Milk - 2.2 kg;
  • Sugar - 5.3 kg;
  • Coffee beans - 3.5 kg.

How much can you earn from coffee machines?

The average bill according to preliminary calculations will be 25 rubles. Depending on the traffic of the point, one machine will sell an average of 80 drinks per day. 10 machines will sell 800 drinks per day, per month (30 days) - 24,000.

Expected monthly revenue (on average for the year) will be 600,000 rubles.

Production plan

Vending machines are planned to be installed in local shopping centers, at universities, railway station and in two cinemas. Medium size the rent will be 8,000 rubles per month (in a shopping center it will be slightly higher, in a university a little lower). To service the network of coffee machines, it is planned to employ one operator with a personal car. His responsibilities will include daily monitoring of the operation of the machines, timely loading of ingredients and withdrawal of proceeds, maintaining the external condition of the machines, solving controversial issues with buyers. Wages will be 15 thousand rubles. per month + fuel and lubricants. Possible monthly bonuses for exceeding the plan.

Business risks

During the conduct of this business The following negative aspects may occur:

  • Vandalism and theft of equipment;
  • Increased competition, emergence of major players in the market;
  • Falling demand in summer period time;
  • Equipment breakdown, downtime;
  • Increased rental payments, decreased business profitability.

Financial plan

Let's move on to calculating the main indicators economic efficiency business. Fixed monthly costs for the coffee machine chain will include:

  • Rent - 80,000 rub.
  • Operator salary - 15,000 rubles.
  • Insurance deductions - 5,000 rubles.
  • Loan payments—RUB 19,725.
  • Fuel and lubricants - 20,000 rub.
  • Depreciation - 10,000 rubles.

Selling services through automated systems called vending. In our country, coffee, snack products, chocolate, carbonated drinks are sold through vending - these products are popular among the population. Machines for preparing coffee drinks are installed in crowded places, such as supermarkets or business centers, so that employees and customers have the opportunity to drink a cup of aromatic coffee at any time.

To sell machine-made coffee, you need to purchase or rent a machine. When renting a coffee machine, you will have to comply with the terms of the contract and purchase consumables from a specific manufacturer, the prices of which are often inflated. If the entrepreneur does not know bandwidth trading place and you’re not sure how the drink will be sold, it’s better to rent a machine.

Installing your own machine is more cost-effective. You can choose any supplier of goods, refusing to purchase branded coffee, which will reduce the cost of each cup of drink sold. Imported devices purchased in Germany, Spain or Italy are highly reliable, which is why most entrepreneurs give preference to them. But they have a significant disadvantage - this high price, which is prohibitively high for new entrepreneurs. Therefore, when starting a vending business, businessmen purchase used European devices or analogues from China or Korea.

To attract regular customers, it is important that the machine prepares delicious coffee. The device, located in a walk-through area, requires about 20 kg of consumable products, 300 liters of water, plastic or paper cups. To attract regular customers, it is desirable that all ingredients be high quality, and the coffee was brewed with excellent taste characteristics.

Required documents and choice of tax system

If a businessman has purchased one or more coffee machines and intends to service them himself, it is more profitable to register his activities as an individual entrepreneur. When the business takes off and the need to hire staff arises, it is advisable to open a limited liability company.

An entrepreneur who has opened an individual entrepreneur or LLC has several options for choosing a tax system:

  1. Simplified system: 6% of turnover
  2. Simplified system: 15% income minus expenses
  3. Imputed tax on vending machines

If the entrepreneur cannot confirm his expenses and income (the device is not installed cash register equipment), the choice of the first taxation option is optimal. When it is possible to confirm all expenses and income, the second scheme is suitable. And the choice of imputed tax will be beneficial only when the company or entrepreneur achieves significant profits or the amount of imputed tax on the machine turns out to be less than the percentage of turnover.

How to choose a place to install the device?

Places with high traffic and a waiting area that is constantly filled with people are suitable for installing a coffee machine. For example, the premises of a railway or bus station, a stop public transport, car service, shopping center, clinic, hall of an institute or any administration.

A shopping center is an ideal place for vending machines

If a place is chosen that is passable, queues may form at the device. Under such conditions, it is important that the machine prepares drinks quickly while maintaining the same level of coffee taste. IN good location the machine prepares 80–100 cups of coffee per day, bringing income to the business owner in the amount of 30–50% of the cost of the drink. With low sales volumes, the owner’s profit is noticeably lower - 10–20% of the price of a glass of coffee.

To install the machine in the selected premises, you need to agree with its administration to rent 1 meter of space and protect the coffee machine.

Coffee machine maintenance

To ensure uninterrupted operation of the coffee machine, it must be refilled with coffee raw materials, repaired and money withdrawn. At the initial stage of the project, the machine is serviced daily: the operation of all mechanisms, the supply of ingredients are checked, and they are cleaned of dust and dirt. Over time, the frequency of visits is reduced to once every two days, and then consumables are changed once every three days.

A service specialist visits an average of ten points of sale per day, checks the condition of the machine, and obtains proceeds in small bills and coins.

Requirements for consumables

In order for the machine to prepare delicious coffee, it is better to purchase high quality ingredients. Even if a glass of drink costs 5–10 rubles more, delicious coffee will attract a significant number of customers.

Consumables that need to be replenished regularly:

  • Various coffee compositions.
  • Granulated sugar.
  • Dry cream in granules.
  • Water.
  • Plastic or paper cups.
  • Sugar stirrers.

Most coffee machines do not need a water connection - it is poured inside the machine. It is better to fill in purified water. Some entrepreneurs try to save money by pouring water from the tap, which greatly spoils the taste of the drinks. Consumables are purchased in special stores that sell raw materials for vending - regular coffee cannot be poured into the machine.

How to choose a device?

Experienced businessmen have come to the conclusion that for a vending business to be profitable, it is necessary to rent/purchase and service at least 5 coffee machines. First, you should rent one device and evaluate its performance. After that in passable places they install several more coffee machines without waiting for the first machine to pay for itself.

Also, experts do not recommend purchasing previously used machines for people who do not have experience in their repair and adjustment. New device will be under warranty, but a used coffee machine will have to be repaired on your own. On average, a coffee machine becomes profitable after just a year of operation.

Possible risks and business prospects

The first thing a novice entrepreneur should be wary of is damage to property by hooligans. To minimize these risks, devices should be placed inside a secure area. If you decide to install an outdoor coffee machine, you can insure it against damage and loss.

The area where the coffee machine is installed may not be crowded enough. If the device does not become profitable within 2-3 months, move it to another location.

It is believed that a coffee machine brings in more income if a machine selling snack products is installed next to it: chocolate bars, cookies, nuts, and sweets. A person will drink coffee and at the same time have a snack.

Offer your customers a large selection of coffee drinks - so that everyone can find their favorite

Despite the saturation of the market today in many educational institutions or office premises There are no coffee machines installed. While residents of megacities are accustomed to the presence of such machines in crowded places, residents of the regions have only recently tried and fallen in love with machine coffee, so regional vending has good potential for development.

Cost calculation and payback forecast

To understand the costs of placing the device, you need to make calculations. The cost of one new machine, depending on the characteristics, ranges from 200–250, used - from 60 to 200, rental of a coffee machine - 1.5–3 thousand rubles. per month. Rental price for a square space in the lobby office building or shopping center from 1 to 10 thousand rubles, costs for ingredients - 5–10 thousand rubles. If you service the device yourself at first, you can save on labor costs for maintenance personnel.

Table: initial costs

For a vending business to generate stable profits, the following conditions must be met:

  • Cost 1 coffee drink should not exceed 10–13 rubles.
  • The cost of a finished glass of coffee should be at least 30–40 rubles, i.e. the trade markup for one serving should be 20 rubles or more.
  • It is necessary that at least 20–30 servings of the drink are sold per day, and better - from 50 pieces.

Based on the data provided, the possible income is calculated. If we take the minimum profitability indicators (20 drinks per day and a price of 30 rubles), daily revenue should be at least 600 rubles, of which 200 rubles. – only the cost of drinks. The monthly income from one coffee machine should be 30*600=18 thousand rubles. and more. With small sales volumes, additional costs (rent, raw materials) can be kept at a low level within 10–15 thousand rubles, and already in the first months of installing the device you can receive a small (3–8 thousand rubles) but stable profit .

Vending is trading using vending machines. The use of vending machines turned out to be so profitable business that more and more more products started selling this way. However, as it turned out, not every product, despite low costs, pays off. Most profitable direction vending has become a coffee machine.

Selling coffee and tea using coffee machines is so profitable that public places Even small towns can see several of these cars at once. Vending trade has a number of advantages compared to other types of trade:

  • low entry threshold. Even a small capital of up to 100 thousand rubles is enough to get started;
  • The coffee machine occupies a small area. A space of 1 square meter is sufficient for installation. m. The coffee machine can be installed even in a small corridor. This makes it possible to significantly save on rent;
  • no need to hire salespeople and pay them salaries. The entire process of cooking and serving is performed automatically;
  • savings on advertising;
  • the coffee machine can be moved to any other location if the previous location turned out to be unfavorable;
  • high profitability and quick payback capital investments.

Vending coffee machines have one significant drawback. They can be hacked. Most often, it is the fear of losing proceeds from the actions of criminals that prevents many entrepreneurs from starting to engage in this type of business. But if you install them in a secure area, then there will be no reason for concern.

How to set up a coffee vending business

The profit from an installed coffee machine largely depends on its location. In uncrowded places, in buildings that are rarely visited, the revenue will be very small. It will hardly be enough to pay rent, pay taxes and buy toppings (coffee, tea, cream, etc.). Therefore, the choice of retail location should be treated with particular scrupulousness. At the planning stage, statistical data is studied, used personal experience and observations. The most advantageous locations for installing coffee machines are:

  • airports and train stations and railway stations;
  • clinics;
  • higher and secondary specialized educational institutions;
  • shopping centers and shops;
  • office centers;
  • parking lots and lots;
  • bazaars;
  • gas stations;
  • any premises in which there is a high turnover or congestion of people.

At all of the above facilities, conditions of fierce competition have already developed. To get maximum profit, simply installing a coffee machine is not enough. It should have many functions so that the buyer has plenty to choose from, and a convenient control panel. You can try to squeeze out competitors by installing several coffee vending machines at once in a profitable area, but to do this you need to have more funds than a novice businessman can afford.

Coffee and snack machine

How to influence work efficiency

It is profitable to sell coffee on vending machines, but only if economic factors were taken into account when opening a business. The level of business risk has been determined. An analysis of the work of competitors was carried out. The break-even level and the minimum price per unit of goods were calculated. The market volume was determined.

Despite some peculiarities, this is a business like any other. The problems that an entrepreneur will face are exactly the same as with regular trading behind the counter. Only it will depend not on the behavior of the seller, but on the state of the equipment. If the device does not work, it runs out of materials, then the businessman will suffer losses due to repairs and downtime. To prevent this from happening, you should check the condition of the coffee machine at least once every 2-3 days.

Timely checking and price comparison will help increase your competitiveness. If competitors have reduced prices, then the only way to maintain the market is to set the same price, even lower, provided that this step does not lead to a loss. If you cannot do this, you should change the location of the device.

You can place a table and/or bench next to the coffee machine. In some cases, this improves operational efficiency better than cutting prices, but only works when the competitor's machine is much further away.

Choosing a coffee machine

For a novice businessman, the main selection criterion most often becomes price. The price depends not only on the functionality of the device, but also on the brand, country of origin and date of manufacture. A novice entrepreneur can purchase a coffee machine for business that has already been used. It costs less than a new one. This is often an outdated model, but it can be a good start. But if funds allow, it is better to buy a new one. When purchasing, you should consider the following factors:

  • is there in your city or area service center on maintenance of the selected coffee machine for business;
  • How is it staffed? Does it have an anti-burglary system installed on it and, accordingly, can it be installed outdoors or is it only suitable for secured premises;
  • availability of warranty and post-warranty service;
  • functionality. Wide range drinks and prices will help satisfy the preferences of different customers, thereby increasing the efficiency of using the machine;
  • maximum possible load of the machine: the number of glasses of coffee the selected machine can dispense without refilling.

Buying a new and expensive coffee machine for business is often more profitable than purchasing an old, but cheap one. The new one performs more functions, works faster and without failures. There is virtually no risk of downtime due to breakdown. This means he can sell more drinks per day.

Fillers for coffee machines

A coffee vending machine is installed in a building that is visited every day by the same people. The main task of an entrepreneur is to make them his regular customers. If coffee from one machine is tasty, but not from another, then people will buy more often from the first. Therefore, coffee for vending machines and other products must be of high quality. Before signing a supply agreement, try drinks made from the supplier's ingredients, but not from samples. You can try drinks from competitors. If you like the taste, feel free to sign the contract.

To fill, use the following components:

  • powdered coffee (instant or grain);
  • tea drinks;
  • filtered water.
  • cocoa;
  • powdered milk and cream.

These components differ in shape and processing technology from conventional ones. For vending machines, coffee is roasted and ground in such a way that during the entire storage period, grains of sand or granules cannot cake and lose their taste and aroma. In addition to fillers, you will also need paper or plastic cups and stir sticks made specifically for vending machines.

Enterprise registration

You can start a coffee machine business only after registering as a individual entrepreneur. During registration, a businessman will be offered several taxation options to choose from. It is more profitable to use the simplified tax system or UTII. Keeping records using such systems is simpler and taxes are lower.

A license to run a coffee machine business is not required. But there must be quality certificates. In case Rospotrebnadzor employees or buyers demand to see these documents. Certificates can be obtained from suppliers of fillers for coffee machines.

Expenses and income

First, you need to find out how much a coffee machine costs and calculate the approximate costs of fillers, materials and maintenance. On average, the price of coffee machines for business ranges from 90 to 350 thousand rubles and depends on many factors. A used machine can be bought for 40-60 thousand rubles. Although such devices are cheaper, they can be expensive to maintain. For obvious reasons, it is better not to take them. Usually they have already exhausted their resource and often fail. The coffee machine sits idle for several hours and days. As a result, the businessman receives less profit.

Therefore, it is better to buy new coffee machines. This will not make your business any less profitable. The payback period may only increase, but it will last longer, and repair and maintenance costs will be minimal. It costs on average about 150-160 thousand.

How profitable coffee machines are as a business can only be assessed after calculations of costs and revenues have been made:

  1. price per cup of coffee for the buyer - 26-35 rubles;
  2. consumption per unit of production - 6-15 rubles;
  3. profit from the sale of a unit of product is on average 15-20 rubles;
  4. the average number of units sold per day is 55-100 units (depending on the location);
  5. Accordingly, gross profit per day is from 800 to 2000 rubles or from 23,000 to 60,000 rubles. per month.

In addition to the cost of purchasing components, that is variable costs, there are also constants, let’s do the calculation:

  • electricity fee – 2-3 thousand rubles per month;
  • rental payment for the premises - from 2000 to 25000 rubles. (it all depends on the region and area) per month;
  • depreciation – 8000-30000 rub. per year (500-600 rubles per month).

From the given expense it is clear that the profitability will average 23,000-25,000 rubles per month. This level can be achieved with the right choice of location and inexpensive rent. This combination is rarely successful on the first try. You may have to change the location of the device several times.

The coffee machine does not require much space

Payback of the coffee machine

The payback for a coffee machine usually occurs within 1-2 years, depending on how well the location was chosen, the level of competition and the cost of purchasing equipment and materials. At the same time, a coffee machine gives a monthly profit of approximately 20 to 120 thousand rubles. The income will be stable for a number of years. As you can see, coffee machines are a profitable business.

The main source of risk, as strange as it may sound, can be the manager public building or the owner of the store where the coffee machine is located. Since a lot depends on the right location, there is a high probability that the owner point of sale wants to install a coffee machine for business himself, rather than rent out the space.

Selling coffee using coffee machines is a profitable business that quickly pays off and does not require large initial investments.

Vending trade is a very popular type of income for owners and a great way to save time and gain a number of significant conveniences for the buyer. After all, you just need to press the desired button and insert a certain amount into the bill acceptor, and you can get what you want.

The most popular type of vending machines are coffee machines with coffee beans (or instant), but there are many other vending machines for many types of goods, from chewing gum to souvenirs. Let's look at the most popular vending machines that can bring significant profit to their owner. In this article we will look at other profitable vending machines.

Coffee machine

Naturally, the most famous type, which we will talk about in a little more detail. This device will be appropriate in the office, store, and wherever you place it. This unit is installed even on the street, and there it is able to provide high profits to its owner.

Another advantage of this device is that it gives you the opportunity to try more than a dozen different types drinks without the intervention of a bartender or barista. Self-service is a very convenient thing, whatever one may say. And yes, the price in Moscow for such coffee is very low.

You can install a coffee machine in the following places:

  1. Shopping mall. In fact, it’s easiest to see coffee machines there.
  2. Waiting rooms. For example, airports, train stations and other places. The most profitable vending machines are installed there.
  3. Financial institutions. Here you can drink coffee while you stand in line to pay your rent. Very convenient.
  4. Schools. Of course, coffee machines are rarely installed in places where children study. The fact is that this drink is harmful for a small organism. But no one bothers.
  5. Mail. The benefits here are the same as in financial institutions. You just need to buy the device.
  6. Cinemas and other entertainment centers.

The coffee machine itself is priced between $1,500 and $5,000. The price depends on the functionality of the model, as well as the ability to buy a used coffee machine. Additionally, you need to spend from 150 to 200 dollars on coffee refills and about the same cost on chocolate and other drinks. The total cost will be $1,800, which in principle is not that expensive.

As for payback, the machine will begin to bring you profit only after 1-2 years, which is, in principle, normal. Although it all also depends on how many people are passing nearby. In principle, many people love coffee, and therefore a direct relationship can be established between the number of people passing by and potential profit. Selling hot aromatic drinks is a very profitable idea.

Snack machine

Business with snack machines in our territory is a relatively new phenomenon. These machines are equipped with refrigerators and their main purpose is to sell packaged products. In addition, such machines can sell sweet water, chips and other small products.

Snack machines are divided into the following types:

  1. Conveyor. Such devices got their name due to the principle of supplying goods. A huge advantage is that you can load any small-packaged products into them.
  2. Spiral. Their essence lies in the fact that first the purchased products are placed in a special tray, and from there they reach the buyer. If the goods are fragile (may break), then a special elevator is designed for this purpose.
  3. Cellular. Everything is simple here - a person takes out all the products he needs from a special cell. Using this method you can implement huge amount products, ranging from fruits to cakes.
  4. Mini snacks. This type of snack machine is characterized, first of all, by its small size. Therefore, it is intended for dispensing tiny products that usually go well with coffee. Therefore, it is recommended to place such vending machines near coffee machines; people like to eat cookies with tea or another warm aromatic drink.

It is impossible to provide exact figures on payback, because everything depends on many factors: the location of the machine, the product sold (each has a different price and demand), the economic period (for example, in times of crisis, people are more inclined to save and not buy small things like chips).

Lensomat

Many people have vision problems and contact lenses- one of the possible solutions to this problem. Therefore, installing lens mats (that’s what these devices are called) is quite a promising activity. The cost of such devices is about 150-200 thousand rubles. It all depends on the brand. The lensomat pays for itself within 5-8 months if you place the device in right place. And where can you install the device?

  1. Shopping and entertainment centers.
  2. Clinics.
  3. Schools, universities.
  4. Gyms.

In general, lenses are an expensive product. Therefore, a special infrared sensor determines whether the product has been issued. If this does not happen, then the money is not debited from the client’s card. If it is not possible to sell lenses, the device can always be converted into another type of vending machine.

Soda vending machine

The business of selling sparkling water, despite the fact that Soviet times are long gone, is still considered a very profitable business with a high return on investment. The cost of a vending machine will be from 75 to 200 thousand rubles.

The price for one glass usually does not exceed 10 rubles. At this price, you will receive 15 thousand per month from one machine if you buy 50 cups. The math is simple. But if you sell sparkling water with syrup at a price of 20 rubles, then your monthly income can be 90,000 rubles, since it sells better with syrup. Well, of course, net income. That is, you need to subtract taxes, electricity and other expenses from this amount.

Ice cream machines

Another popular type of vending machines are ice cream devices. Their advantages are novelty, and hence low competition. Such devices have an interesting way of serving ice cream. The product is dispensed using a pump arm, a process that is usually very popular with children.

There are many interesting vending machines. It's better to buy them from us. Why? Because we install devices and teach you how to use them for free.

We looked at different vending machines that make a profit. But the choice is not limited to them. We have only listed the most profitable vending machines.

23.12.2015

Every budding vendor - and this is not surprising - is interested in the profitability of coffee machines. And in order to raise interest in themselves, many companies are disingenuous, inflating numbers, and sometimes they simply openly take them out of thin air.

We conducted a survey of SuperVending clients and partners and came up with real guidelines that allow us to find out how much profit a coffee machine can bring.

Factor one - location

First of all, the profit from a coffee machine depends on the chosen point. Where you plan to put trade equipment There must be at least 50 permanent staff + waiting or gathering places.

If you have a choice between high “fluid” traffic or low traffic, but with a waiting area, you need to choose the second option.

For example, in a shopping center, the profit from a coffee machine will be higher in the technical area where employees communicate/smoke/drink coffee than at the exit. The chances that a store visitor will stop to drink coffee are always lower than the chance that a person working there will take at least a portion of the drink in a day.

If you find a location near the waiting area where more than 50 people work, 80% of the time the location will be profitable. It needs to be tested!

Factor two - testing

No one, not even a seasoned professional, can determine at first glance how much profit will be from coffee machines at a particular point. Testing is always needed. So your success, first of all, depends on your perseverance, and not on luck, as many people think.

How to test a location with minimal cost and maximum accuracy?

To determine the profit from a coffee machine, you should not take exactly the equipment that you ultimately plan to install. If the point turns out to be a “failure”, you will only waste money. Take any small machine that can be disassembled into two parts and can be easily transported by a regular car.

Install the machine at the point and record the counter for beverage sales and revenue. This option is now available on any machine.

For example, you sell approximately 40 glasses per day. This means that the profit will be 40/2 = 20 thousand rubles per month.

How to calculate net profit in the vending business?

Average number of drinks sold * average price of a drink * number of days in a month = revenue

For example, if the building has only 1 day off per month (that is, 26 days when the machine is used), the average number of glasses per day is 40, and the average cost of a drink is 35, you will get the following equation

40*35*26 = 36,400 rubles per month

Now from this amount we subtract the cost of coffee and powders (this is 25% of revenue), the cost of rent (usually 10% of revenue), 1000 rubles for gasoline and 500 rubles for other expenses

It will turn out to be about 22,000 rubles per month.

Naturally, it is impossible to predict the exact figure. Vending machines cannot bring the same profit every month. Somedays there will be more, sometime there will be less. But for an average result this formula is quite accurate.

What is important to pay attention to?

There are nuances that will help you quickly develop your vending business and increase your profits.

  • Seasonality
  • Quality of ingredients
  • Appearance of the machine

If you have a dirty or heavily scratched, crumpled coffee machine, you can’t count on good profits. Such a “monster” will only scare away customers.

  • Rent

The adequate cost of renting a point is 10–15% of revenue. If they ask for more, then this is already robbery. If it's less, there's probably something wrong with the place. For example, there is a high risk of vandalism, which the owner of the premises is silent about, luring you with a favorable rental price.

A successful businessman does not have his head in the clouds - he calculates both possible revenue and possible losses. Yes, in vending the risk of losing is much less than in any other business area. Especially if you work on used equipment.

According to statistics from SuperVending clients, the maximum losses are 20–30% of the initial investment. And this amount is possible in case successful development recapture in just a month. Nevertheless, it is also important to think about risks. If you become complacent, you may miss something important.
