home If you want to make a black and white copy of the page, you must click the corresponding button - black and white drops on the printer panel

. It only works for scanned documents. In order to print a document in black and white only, you need to go to --> Printer print settings Advanced and select the appropriate item " Grayscale printing " or " Black ink only

"or something like that. However, keep in mind: the printer will still not print with empty cartridges.

When printing in black and white mode, it prints brown instead of black, both black text and black solid. And in text and other modes, all colors are displayed correctly. How to fix it?

First, let's figure out why this happens. In " Text

", which implies that you intend to print only black text, the printer prints only with a black cartridge. In all other modes, which assume that the print contains not only black text, but also text of other colors and/or graphics, the printer receives black and shades gray from color cartridges - cyan, magenta and yellow (in theory, mixing (CMYK) C, M and Y should ideally produce black, but in practice it produces dirty brown).

Color distortion occurs because the printer is not calibrated correctly. Or completely uncalibrated. If you refuse original cartridges in favor of compatible ones and use PZK and CISS and want to get the perfect result, you need to do color profiling. Now about the color profiling itself.- order it to specialists. They have precision equipment and everything. But this, of course, is not free. You can try to find a ready-made color profile online for your photo paper and ink brand. This will not provide ideal color rendition, but to some extent it should solve the problem. You can also profile yourself. But there are no guarantees, it all depends on you.

Epson printer test page

Epson printers can print a test page and more precisely a test printing the print head nozzles without connecting it to the computer. Therefore, if you do not have the opportunity to connect the printer to a PC or laptop or the driver is not installed, then the test sheet can be printed by pressing the printer key combination.

1. If the printer is turned on, turn off its power using the key. Place paper in the tray.

2. With the printer turned off, press and hold the key (2) with the icon of a trash can and a sheet of paper (the rightmost button), then without releasing it, press the “on” key (1) and release. Hold key (2) for 10 seconds. Let go.

When ready, the printer prints a printhead test page.

This method is valid for Epson printer models.

To be continued...

Some users of colored office equipment think about next question: Can the printer print without a color cartridge? The fact is that sometimes during printing necessary documents A message appears on the PC screen stating that the device’s color consumables are running low and need to be replaced soon. After this, the printer usually becomes blocked, resulting in the user having to replace its consumables.

Often people try to get their device to work in order to print the rest of the necessary text materials using a black ink cartridge. Generally this task is not problematic, but there are certain subtleties - use one little trick described at the very end of the article.

But it should be said right away that the printer will not print without a cartridge (black or color, no difference). It may simply be empty, and in this case, when printing a document, the color corresponding to the cartridge will not be displayed on the surface of the paper. Therefore, this consumable must be inside the printing device - it acts as a kind of electrical plug so that the printer can determine from the chip that the consumable is in the right place. But in this case, you must be aware that you cannot print without ink on a printer with a built-in print head, otherwise the head may burn out. If the printer does not have a built-in print head and its cartridge is empty, then trying to make it work, you are only risking consumables.

How to print documents with an inkjet printer with one cartridge?

If the color inks of your printing device have run out and you decide to print the necessary files using black inks, then first of all go through the “START” of your computer to the “Printers and Faxes” menu. Then click on the shortcut desired device right-click, click on “Print Properties”, after which a dialog box will open in front of you.

Go to the “Color Settings” tab and select the cartridge that you decide to use in this moment. Next, click on “Print with this cartridge only.” If necessary, select a black ink cartridge to use for black and white printing or grayscale printing.

But if the black paint has run out or the black cartridge is damaged, then it is better to change the color type. In this case, you can choose to print only with a color cartridge (unless its reservoirs are empty), which in turn will cause the colors to mix, resulting in a black print result - exactly what you need for text.

As for the color laser printer, then keep in mind that the printer will not print until a full set of four cartridges is installed. If you decide to start printing documents using one empty consumable, then keep in mind that its photo roll will soon wear out.

Thus, the answer to the question of how to make a printer print without a color cartridge is quite simple. But please note that you should not remove empty ones from the printer. Consumables, otherwise the machine will not recognize them and will not print.

It happened to me, the diaper was overfilled, I was not lazy - I took it apart - washed it... - dried it, - collected it and all the counters flew off somewhere. Now I use it freely. nothing limits it.

When printing, you need to go to properties and select service there
After selecting the parameters, all that remains is to choose what color to print

Canon mp 250. The color cartridge has run out. Black full. I set all the settings to black cartridge and even Grayscale. But it's no use. I press print. Runs away like prints, but comes out Blank sheet. Is it really true as they say that when color ends, black is also blocked? marketing ploy such?

when the ink runs out, you need to press the button on the printer that lights up yellow in case of errors, keep it pressed for 15 seconds and that’s it

Canon mp280 MFP when the color paint ran out and there was no money to refill it. I realized that I won’t print in black. To prevent it from drying out, I took a narrow piece of tape, stuck a rectangle of electrical tape on it (2 layers), Velcro to Velcro, and wrapped it around the cartridge so that this rectangle covered the exit (nozzle) of the cartridge. I set up printing only with a black cartridge (so that the residues are not squeezed out of the color one and the empty one does not burn out). After 2 months I dug up some paint, poured it in with a syringe and it prints in color.

Dear, if the color cartridge runs out, the device automatically signals this by blocking all functions. The point is to reset the ink counter, because the cartridge is equipped with a special electronic chip that provides the device with comprehensive information about the ink level. You need to go into service mode and special program MP Tools installed on your computer perform this operation.

I don't know this particular model. The general algorithm is something like this... Start - Control Panel - Printers and Faxes - Printer Properties (if there are several printers, you need to select Canon MP140) - "General" tab. Next, look for the “Print Settings” item. In the "Home" tab there should be two items "Shades of Gray" and " Preview". Check both boxes. Then click on the "Apply" button, and then on the "Ok" button. After that, everything should print only in black. But the remaining cartridges should still be installed, even if they are empty.
