Fireman's crowbar PSh with a ball head has a simple design and purpose. It is used to upholster plaster and chip ice from the lid of a hydrant well. This crowbar is also used to clear fire sites, open roofing, sheathing, etc. This is an indispensable tool for any fighter against an uncontrolled fire. It is very convenient for breaking doors, stained glass, glass and other obstacles on the way to saving human life.

Characteristics

The crowbar consists of a round rod and a ball at its upper end.

The diameter of the crowbar is 50 mm,

The diameter of its flat cut is 25 mm.

Looking at its lower end, you can see sharpening into two edges, the blade width of which is 12.5 mm.

A fire crowbar is a non-mechanized fire fighting tool.

Its overall dimensions:

Length: 1000 mm.

The scrap has a mass of no more than 5 kg;

The metal has a thickness of 25 mm.

Scope of application

The crowbar is used as a lever, which helps break into structures with a fairly tight connection. There are several types of fire crowbars:

Heavy fireman's crowbar (Difference: curved upper part. Used to perform lever work, opening doors and structures);

Fireman's ball crowbar (Difference: round rod. Use it to break ice, upholster plaster);

Universal fireman's crowbar (Difference: bent upper steel parts. Used in emergency situations to urgently open doors and windows);

Light fireman's crowbar (Difference: bent tetrahedral upper part with a ring for suspension and the same, but flat lower part).

Every firefighter's tool has the power to prevent someone's death. And even such a simple weapon as a fireball crowbar will help you penetrate a burning building, eliminating all obstacles in your way. If a child is imprisoned alone in a house engulfed in fire, then it is impossible to get to him without a crowbar, which will help open the door, break the window and save him. The fire ball crowbar is suitable for any rescue work in a variety of environments. This functionality is determined only by the strength of the material from which it is made and the skills to work with it.

Scrap is a hand tool that is one of the ancient devices of mankind. Impact and lever work was performed using a crowbar. In ancient times, a device similar to a crowbar was used for arranging caves (dwellings), clearing small rubble from stones and rolling them. In ancient times, a crowbar was a wooden crowbar with a sharp end; a sharp stone was tied to one end, and the crowbar became a hunting tool. With the discovery of metals and the development of blacksmithing, crowbars began to be made from metal, which improved its quality and expanded the range of work performed with its help.

Fire crowbars or entrenching tools are indispensable assistants when performing various works in case of fire and accidents. Varieties of crowbars include the following types:

  • Fireman's light scrap (LPL);
  • fireman's heavy scrap (LPT);
  • universal fireman's crowbar;
  • Fireman's ball scrap (LPSh).

Light (LPL)

It is used when dismantling light structures in a fire, opening roofing material, cladding buildings and similar work.

The crowbar itself is an all-metal cylindrical base 1.1 m long, weighs only 2.5 kg and has a diameter of 25 mm. The upper part of the rod is bent at an angle of 45° and sharpened along four edges.

For convenience and descent from a height, there is a metal ring for hanging on the upper edge, the width of the hook.

With ball head (LPSh)

It is used for removing building coatings by upholstery, removing ice from covers in places where fire-prevention water pipes are located.

The LPS crowbar is an all-metal cylindrical base with a diameter of 50 mm, at one end of which there is a thickening in the form of a ball; the opposite end of the crowbar is sharp, sharpened into two edges and 12.5 mm wide. The length of the scrap is 1.0 m, weight no more than 5 kg.

Heavy (LPT)

A heavy fireman's crowbar (HLC) is used when carrying out lever work with little effort when dismantling floor structures, plank trusses, partitions, as well as for uncorking doors.

The crowbar looks like an all-metal cylindrical base with a diameter of 28 mm. The upper part looks like a hook sharpened on four sides, the lower part looks like a tip sharpened on two sides. Distinctive feature scrap is its high strength, the weight of the product is 5 kg, length is 1.1 m.

Universal health care facility

(for doors and windows)

It is used when carrying out work on opening windows and doors. The crowbar consists of a solid metal rod with two bent ends.

This crowbar is usually used for leverage during rescue work and dismantling of structures. Scrap length 600 mm, weight – 3 kg.

Technical requirements

According to section 5 normative document the following requirements apply:

The mechanical properties of scrap metal must be no lower than those of steel 45 according to GOST 1050.

Rest metal parts tools should be made from carbon steel according to GOST 1050 or GOST 380.

Tests should be carried out in accordance with the requirements of paragraph 7.5 of the above described GOST.

The pointed working parts of the tool must be sharpened and then heat treated to a length, mm, not less than:

  • 60 – for hooks, hooks, bent ends of crowbars and ax picks;
  • 150 – for straight ends of crowbars;

The hardness of heat-treated tool ends is 48-54 HRC.

Indicators of the purpose of the universal tool kit:

  • the maximum bending moment when working with any replaceable working element, except for the hook, is not less than 785 Nm;
  • maximum tensile force when working with a crowbar-hook or hook - not less than 1960 N;
