Presentation on the theme "Shrovetide!"

Dear Colleagues! Shrovetide week is coming. I want to share with you my material, which I prepared in the form of a presentation about Maslenitsa for my children middle group. I will be glad if it is useful to someone.

First, I lay out the text for the demonstration of each slide, and the presentation itself below.

PRESENTATION "MASLENI CA"

1 slide. Guys, today I will tell you about one of the most fun and interesting holidays our country - Shrovetide. Maslenitsa is one of the brightest, funniest, noisiest and unforgettable holidays of the year. This is a holiday that was celebrated by our grandmothers and great-grandmothers, that is, it appeared a long time ago.

2 slide. Shrove Tuesday saw off the winter and welcomed the spring. We can judge the approach of spring by the fact that the sun rises earlier, which gradually begins to warm up, the birds began to chirp.

3 slide. We are still celebrating Shrovetide. Pancake is considered the main decoration of this holiday. Do you know why? It is very similar to the sun. Pancake symbolizes the sun.

4-5 slide. Maslenitsa was called cheese week. People arranged fun, skiing and sledding from the mountains, riding horses, taking a snowy town, arranged fistfights. By the descent from the mountain, they judged their own fate: whoever leaves the mountain safely will have to good year; the further you slide, the longer your life will be. The children made snow slides and rode them on a sled. They also made snowmen, or snowmen, from the snow.

6 slide. Maslenitsa has always been loved by the people, because this is a holiday that is always accompanied by fun: all relatives, friends and relatives gather, festivities at home and on the street, dancing, practical jokes, mummers having fun. No one ever got bored at Maslenitsa, and everyone always celebrated, because according to Russian legend, if you don’t take a walk on Maslenitsa, then there will be no joy for a whole year.

7 slide. Each day of Shrovetide had its own name and ritual meaning.

Monday called "meeting".

On this day, they met Maslenitsa, dressed up a stuffed doll, planted this stuffed animal on a pole and, singing, drove it on a sleigh through the village. Then Maslenitsa was set on a snowy mountain, where sleigh rides began. Relatives visited each other, agreed how they would spend the week.

8 slide. Tuesday - "play".

From that day on, various unbridled games and fun began: sleigh rides, folk festivals, performances. In large wooden booths (rooms for folk theatrical performances with clowning and comic scenes), performances were given led by Petrushka and Shrovetide grandfather. Masked mummers walked the streets. Visiting familiar houses, they impromptu arranged cheerful home concerts. Large companies rode around the city, on troikas and on simple sledges. Another simple entertainment was also held in high esteem - skiing from icy mountains.

9 slide. Wednesday - "gourmet".

In each family, tables were laid with delicious food, pancakes were baked, and beer was brewed in the villages. There were theaters everywhere trade tents. They sold hot sbitni (drinks made from water, honey and spices, roasted nuts, honey gingerbread. Here, right under the open sky, one could drink tea from a boiling samovar.

10 slide. Broad Thursday.

This is where the main fun begins: they carry a scarecrow, ride, sing ditties, go caroling. Probably, “not everything is Shrovetide for the cat” from here, before Lent you need to work up properly.

11 slide. Friday - mother-in-law evenings.

The most important event was the visit of the mother-in-law by the sons-in-law, for whom she baked pancakes and arranged a real feast (if, of course, the son-in-law was to her liking). In some places, “Teschin pancakes” took place on gourmets, that is, on Wednesday during Shrovetide week, but could be timed to coincide with Friday. If on Wednesday the sons-in-law visited their mother-in-laws, then on Friday the sons-in-law arranged “mother-in-law evenings” - they invited them to pancakes. The mother-in-law was supposed to send in the evening everything needed for baking pancakes: a frying pan, a ladle, etc., and the father-in-law sent a bag of buckwheat and cow's butter. The disrespect of the son-in-law for this event was considered a dishonor and insult and was the reason for the eternal enmity between him and the mother-in-law.

12 slide. Saturday - sister-in-law gatherings.

On Saturday, young daughters-in-law hosted their relatives, and they gave gifts to their sisters-in-law, their husband's sisters.

13 slide. Forgiveness Sunday (tsolovnik, farewell)

On this day they saw off Maslenitsa. The straw effigy was honored, invited to return again the next year, and then taken away to the outskirts, where they were burned at the stake. On the last day of Shrove Tuesday, everyone asks each other for forgiveness, freeing themselves from sins before Great Lent: “Forgive me if I am guilty” - “Forgive me too” - “God will forgive”. All this was accompanied by bows and kisses.

14 slide. The carnival is leaving, and with it the winter.

Shrovetide Shrovetide, cheese week (before the spelling reform, it was also often - Maslenitsa) is a folk holiday cycle that has been preserved in Russia since pagan times. The rite is associated with seeing off winter and welcoming spring. Maslenitsa got its name from the fact that during this period of time the last week before Lent, it is allowed to eat butter, dairy products and fish.
